Wareham Hopper

The Wareham Hopper is a ‘Dial-a-Ride’ service for access to shopping, leisure and social activities and is specifically for the elderly with no access to, or are unable to use public transport. The days of operation are as follows:

Tuesday — Corfe Castle to Swanage
Wednesday am – Lytchett Minster, Lytchett Matravers, outskirts of Upton to Tower Park and Poole
Wednesday pm – Wool, Wareham, Corfe Castle to Tower Park and Poole.
Thursday – All villages to Wareham
Friday – occasional excursions

The charge is £5 — £6 (outer villages) and concessionary fares apply.

Purbeck Assisted Shopping

This service for the elderly runs from Corfe Castle to Wareham on Wednesday afternoons, twice a month using volunteers cars. There is an annual registration fee of £5 and concessionary fares apply.

Communicare

Comminicare is a voluntary car and befriending service for general shopping, prescription and pension collection, accompanying the frail either walking or in a wheel chairs. It serves Harman’s Cross and Kingston for medical visits and shopping (volunteer cars).

There is a charge of 40p per mile (min. £2 per journey) and the service operates as required.

Friends of Corfe Castle Surgery

This service provides transport to the surgery for disabled / mobility impaired and the elderly with no access to or unable to use public transport. It is a service for patients from Corfe Castle surgery only.

The service runs Monday to Friday and is served by volunteers with cars. There is no standard charge but donations are welcome.

Helping Hands

This service covering Purbeck is a voluntary car scheme providing transport to hospitals, doctors, dentists, opticians and any other medical appointments for the disabled / mobility impaired and the elderly with no access to or unable to use public transport .

There is a suggested voluntary donation of 45p per mile for the service which is run in volunteers cars. Please provide at least 48 hours notice of any appointments.

The Swanage Hopper

The Swanage Hopper Dial-a-Bus is a community door to door service which operates in the Swanage area on Tuesdays between the hours of 11am and 3pm. This service serves Kingston but not Corfe Castle.

The service offers return trips to Swanage town centre and Swanage market providing an essential shopping service.
