Community Land Trust receives huge support from Parish
Corfe Castle Community Land Trust addressed a packed village hall on the evening of the 19th of October. The Trust outlined their plans to deliver 12 affordable homes for local people which are to be provided on a rental basis, and six market value homes which would be sold to help fund the project. The building and management of the homes will be managed by a housing association but the CCCLT will control nomination rights and (who the homes are rented to). It is estimated 2017-18 will see the planning process progress and all being well construction will commence and complete in 2019.
A site behind Springwell Close was suggested and whilst there were some concerns regarding access and traffic the village welcomed the proposals and a request for a show of hands showed a huge majority supporting the project. Some suggestions for traffic calming were made and these will be noted by the Parish Council.
The CCCLT invited members to join at a cost of £1. Membership entitles an individual to contribute to decisions made by the Trust and it was emphasised how this is very much a community project.
